North China University of Science and Technology Visits Metal Smelting Base for Research and Exchange

On April 3, a delegation led by Zhang Caijun, Director of the Development Planning and Discipline Construction Office of North China University of Science and Technology, visited the Technical Support Center for Prevention and Control of Major Accidents in Metal Smelting (hereinafter referred to as the "Metal Smelting Base") for research and exchange. Wang Min and An Lu, Deputy Directors of the Metal Smelting Base, attended the meeting, which was chaired by An Lu.

Wang Min extended a warm welcome to Zhang Caijun and his entourage. He introduced the construction progress of the Metal Smelting Base project and the research and development orientation of the base. He stated that the base is committed to enhancing the technical support capabilities for accident prevention and control, online monitoring and inspection of major potential safety hazards, accident investigation, accident traceability and emergency rescue in the metal smelting industry, providing a strong guarantee for the steady and continuous improvement of the work safety situation in the metal smelting field.

Zhang Caijun noted that the iron and steel industry is a pillar industry of Hebei Province. Located in Tangshan, a key hub of the iron and steel industry, North China University of Science and Technology has built a prominent advantage in industry-university-research cooperation with its distinctive metallurgical disciplines. He expressed the hope to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with the Metal Smelting Base of University of Science and Technology Beijing, jointly boost the overall upgrading of safety production technologies and equipment in the iron and steel industry, and promote the formulation of relevant standards, so as to effectively drive the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

Subsequently, the two sides held in-depth discussions on new metallurgical safety technologies, discipline development planning, scientific research cooperation and other topics. This exchange enhanced mutual understanding between the two parties and laid a solid foundation for follow-up cooperation in metal smelting safety technology and related disciplines.

Finally, Zhang Caijun and his entourage visited the laboratories of the base.

Long Yue, Chief of the Science and Technology Department, and Piao Zhanlong, Deputy Chief of the Development Planning and Discipline Construction Office of North China University of Science and Technology, accompanied the visit. Relevant teachers from the Metal Smelting Base and the Institute of Engineering and Technology participated in the exchange.
